Anesthesiologists

Nurse Anesthetists
A nurse anesthetist is a registered nurse who has taken one or more years of formal anesthesia education after finishing nursing school and has completed a state certification exam.  The nurse anesthetist will work under the direction and supervision of an Anesthesiologist.

Many certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) have earned a Master's of Science in Nursing.  CHS of NC, Raleigh Practice Center is proud to support the graduate level programs of the Raleigh School of Anesthesia of Nurse Anesthesia, which has been named one of the top ten programs nationwide.
